I heard that many of the apples we buy at the grocery store are 1 year old!! WHAT?!? I mean seriously who wants to eat 1 year old apples? That is why I drove an hour to the Apple Orchard. In about 15 minutes of picking I was able to get 37 pounds of apples for $37. Pretty good deal in my opinion!
So now what to do with all my apples? First I wanted to make dehydrated apple slices. I sliced the apples and soaked in lemon juice with a few drops of OnGuard essential oil. (Good for immunity boosting!)
The dehydrated apple slices turned out YUMMY! My hubby says they are too sour but I love them!
Well I can’t let all the cores and peels go to waste! So I decided to try my hand at apple cider vinegar. It will take about 6 weeks to get the finally results so stay tune!!
37 pounds of apples turned into 13 quarts of apple slices canned and ready for pies or snacks this winter. 3 quarts of dehydrated apple slice (think I can eat them instead of potato chips?) 6 quarts of apple cider vinegar in the making. And a few dozen apples left to snack on.
